Job Description

Position: Production Worker (W/M/NB)

Workplace: Niestępowo (20 km from Gdańsk)

Place of residence: Niestępowo

Employment: Civil contract (Umowa zlecenie)

Salary: 

White section

  • Guaranteed rate: PLN 32.50/hour gross

Green section

  • Guaranteed rate: PLN 33.00/hour gross

Payments: Regularly, between the 15th and 20th of each month. 

Duties:

Production is divided into the “white section” and the “green section” (dirty section).

White section

The white section employs the largest number of workers. This is where carcasses are cut and individual chicken parts are prepared according to orders.

Main duties:

  • separating drumsticks;
  • separating wings;
  • processing chicken breasts;
  • mechanically dividing breasts into one portion or two fillets, depending on the order;
  • hanging bone-in breast parts on hooks;
  • hanging drumsticks on hooks;
  • sorting wings by completeness and size;
  • weighing finished products.

The standard weight of one container with product is 15 kg. After weighing, the containers are placed on pallets and transported to cold storage using electric pallet trucks or transferred onto transport lines.

Work performed by women

Most women perform manual tasks:

  • sorting wings;
  • sorting and additionally cleaning livers, gizzards and hearts;
  • additional cleaning of products after machine processing;
  • working with knives;
  • removing meat from drumsticks;
  • removing skin and traces of blood from fillets;
  • final preparation of products.

Therefore, the white section involves a lot of manual work requiring accuracy, speed and the ability to use a knife.

Green section

The work begins with receiving live poultry. Workers remove chickens from transport crates and hang them on the conveyor hooks.

The next stages include slaughtering, washing and processing poultry, removing feathers, heads and internal organs.

Additional duties in the green section:

  • quality control of cleaning and evisceration;
  • separating gizzards, livers and hearts;
  • removing blood and feathers from the floor;
  • maintaining the sanitary condition of the production area.

After the initial processing, the carcasses are transferred to the white section.

Work schedule: 

I SHIFT
  • Green section: from 00:00/00:30 (10 hours of work)
  • White section: from 03:00/04:00 (10 hours of work)
II SHIFT
  • Green section: from 10:00
  • White section: from 13:00/14:00

If necessary, especially when there is a large number of animals to be slaughtered, working hours may be extended — up to 14 hours per day, if permitted and agreed with the company.

Accommodation: 

  • Comfortable houses equipped with all necessary amenities.
  • Cost of accommodation: PLN 350 per month, deducted from salary.
  • Accommodation is located 15–20 minutes on foot from the workplace.

Additional information: 

  • Temperature in the white section is approximately +4…+8°C.
  • Standard work clothing is provided to employees every day.

The company provides:

  • thermal underwear;
  • warm fleece;
  • warm work trousers;
  • warm hat;
  • if necessary – a neck warmer or other neck protection;
  • medical examinations paid for by the company.

There are also:

  • coffee and hot drink vending machines;
  • snacks, rolls, etc.;
  • designated smoking areas.

Smoking is allowed only during the designated break.

Start of work: 

  • Within 4-5 days after arrival.
